hey guys, dr. axe here. today i want to talkabout a superfood that can help your body burn fat and lose weight fast. recently onthe dr. oz show, dr. oz talked about a superfood that is helped people lose weight faster thanany supplement, any food, any drug, any compound in medical history and that superfood is calledafrican mango. african mango is found in cameroon and nigeriaand western areas of africa. for years the

superfoods for weight loss, people in that area have been known to bevery thin and lean and healthy. one of the reasons they're attributing to these peoplebeing so healthy, is because they consume large amounts of the superfruit, african mango.in a recent study in the journal of clinical nutrition in 2008, they did a clinical studyon african mango and as you can see back here,


they did a 10 week study. now, listen this. in the clinical study theygave 150 milligrams of africa mango twice a day to participants and the people who tookafrican mango twice a day, lost 28 pounds in 10 weeks. absolutely incredible and again,there has never been a study like this done where they've seen such great results. anotherstudy was done three years prior in 2005 and they found people that took african mango,150 milligrams twice a day, lost an average of 12.8 pounds in a four week period of time.it was almost 13 pounds in a month just from consuming this superfruit, african mango.you can see there are really specifically four ways that african mango works that wehave up on the screen.


first, it works with adiponectin which isa hormone in your body that helps increase your insulin sensitivity. this is very importantfor diabetics or people who have low blood sugar. if sugar doesn't get inside your cell,it can wreak havoc on your body also causing problem like diabetes. but again, we're seeingthat african mango, the compound in there called irvingia, what you may see in someof the clinical trials. it helps by increasing your insulin sensitivity similar to a compoundlike cinnamon. it has been shown to be helpful for diabetics and balancing out those bloodsugar levels which is also very important in weight loss. number two, african mango helps balance yourbody hormonally by working with a hormone


called leptin. in fact, it balances a hormoneleptin which actually is a signal your brain uses to burn fat and lose weight. i have beenworking with patients for years and i've found a lot of times people can't lose weight becausetheir hormones are imbalanced. so if you've ever been a person who has been on the treadmillall day long or you've gone and worked out and you're not seeing the results you needto, it could be because your hormone are imbalanced. one of the benefits of african mango is, again,it helps your body in signaling leptin which is kind of like your body's burning fat hormone.it signals your brain, which signals your body to burn fat. next thing here. third, irvingia also knownas african mango, decreases the amount of


blood sugar that turns into fat. for yearsi have heard people say before, "i'm not going to eat much fat because it's going to turninto fat." truthfully, healthy fat can help your body burn fat and lose weight. typicallyit is sugar or eating an excess amount of carbohydrates that turns into sugar, that'swhat will cause your body to gain weight. the fact that this actually helps with yourglucose not turning into fat, that is fantastic. number four here, fourth it blocks the enzymeamylase from digesting starches that would have normally become sugar. basically, ratherthan breaking down these starches it may act more like a fiber in your body where yourbody is not going to actually break the starch down. it's not going to turn starches intosugar which is a good thing. so you can see


some of the four health benefits there ofafrican mango. also to mention this about african mango,remember what they did in the study was, again 150 milligrams twice a day. i believe thisis best taken 30 minutes before your meal, 30 minutes, twice a day before your meals,that's what they did in the study. also to mention this, a lot of studies sometimes peoplecan be biased or sometimes people will also make dietary changes in studies. one of thesignificant things about the study was, when people consumed african mango in the studies,they didn't do any dietary changes with it. all the weight loss was attributed to theafrican mango. i know this is something dr. oz has been talkingabout, many other people around the country,


african mango. again, you may be able to findit as a food, if you can, go for it. in america they were finding it more as an extract andcertain supplements. make sure if you're getting it, you're getting the highest quality formof it. today again there are a lot of cheap brands of this, and i know there is companyout there that actually is using the exact some african mango found in studies today. on a side note, i want to mention somethingi have been drinking on a daily basis. it's called reign fruit infusion. it's by a companycalled beyond organic. and the cool thing about this water, this is something i drinktwice a day before meals. there several things in here, one of the things coincidentallythat is in here is african mango. and again,


what i do is basically drink one of thesetwice a day before meals. again, reign fruit infusion is another good thing to check outhere. but again, back to the african mango. this is something good to be consuming andagain i don't want anyone to just be taking this just as a kind of a fad diet thing. africanmango is antioxidant. there are a lot of other health benefits with it. i recommend if youwant to lose weight and lose it fast, start taking some african mango along with changingyour diet. you wouldn't want to take this and then just not change your diet at all.but again, if you've got a healthy diet and you're eating plenty of healthy fats, lotsof fiber from fruits and vegetables and protein, this is a good thing in addition to help yourbody burn fat and burn it fast.
