you know when i look back at my life, i reallysee that my passion is, i like to say, my ministry has come from my own misery there was a time where i struggled with myweight at my largest, i was over 416 pounds and at416, you know, i had a great positive mental attitude but i knew that i had this problem

ruben studdard weight loss, i really struggled with my weight the way that it started was when i was young,my mother struggled with mental illness, paranoia and dementia, and we lived in 12 or 13 differentcities by the time i was 12 or 13 years old and out of that struggle, i had really hadthis addiction to food come out of that because


there was a lack of food in the house i had tried different things to get it off i had tried all these different programs andthen from there, i spent 62 days at the biggest loser ranch and was introduced to anotherlife it really, it was almost a rebirth in thesense that i learned some things that i'd never done before i could exercise incredibly hard, i couldeat right and be satisfied in my eating so since that time, i really had decided thati was going to make it a hobby of mine to study exercise, uh, exercise science


and so i've studied exercise science, i'vestudied nutritional science, and i've studied the psychology of change my name is pete thomas, my profession is,i'm a weight loss educator, i help people to lose weight and keep it off permanently and my passion is really to educate peopleon the science of nutrition, and of the psychology of change, you know, and exercise scienceas well because of my own struggle i've really cometo learn to love, love, love teaching others i've completed two triathlons and i've completedwhat are known as the ragnar relays, a 200 mile road relay race


so i've done some great, great things and the things that i love to do the mostare teach people about making a slight change and making it permanent so i think when it comes to obesity, anyonecan overcome it by mastering your mind, managing your mind and then thirdly, you have to have regularexercise, you have to learn how to multiply your muscles i think if i could tell you what i'm gratefulfor, it would be so many different things, but i think, number one, i'm grateful to godfor giving me a second chance at life


and then, number two, giving me a chance toreally touch the lives of others by being able to touch the lives of others,i feel like the struggle that i went through, it wasn't all for me, it wasn't just, youknow, because god was mad at me, but he allowed me to go through certain things so that icould turn around and encourage and give a hand up to others
