i mentioned that i changed my diet and thatchanged that i got for my blood work, i was able to reduce the level of testosterone,levels of cholesterol. someone asked what was my diet, or pcos diet. if you want to see that video where i talkedabout how i got tested, please look in the description box below. please check with a doctor because i am notqualified to give dietary advice. according to one of my friends, i diagnosemyself, which i don't, i go to a doctor all the time, i just decide if i want to do treatmentor not. when i first found out that i had pcos, ihad to change my diet because i was borderline
diabetic, i was very close, i wasn't fullblown and i wasn't in the clear. i was in between. i was almost there and not at the same time. i had to change everything, i may have beeneating a lot of sugar, and, flour, pastries, and candy, ice cream. now that i was borderline diabetic, i hadto cut all these artificial sweets out of my diet. now if you eat lots of sweets and sugary foodsand you know that you have pcos, you need to stop no more, you might have to do it graduallyto get weaned off of it but eventually.
you have to stop. no more of it. hopefully, that would help you but you haveto sustain it. not just for one day, one week or one month. you have to do it for a long time, years. even though i had a changed my diet, i hadto check my blood glucose levels every day with a home kit. i always knew what my blood sugar levels wereevery day. i had to cut artificial sugars, sugary foods.
no more dairy, no cheese, no milk, no meat,no eggs. i don't want to tell you what to do. let me tell you what i did. i cut out cow's milk, i started to use almondmilk, that i bought at the grocery and eventually i decided to make my own almond milk. which is very easy to do, you just soak, blendit, strain it, drink it. cow's milk is filled with hormones, estrogen,pus and stuff you don't want. no more meat in my diet. i cut out all meats at first and then my motherstarted to grow chickens at home.
we had fresh organic, homegrown chickens andthat's what i ate for awhile. then i realized she was feeding them cornand it is gmo. so i stopped eating chicken as well. once i was able to eliminate some of the badstuff, i started to incorporate a lot of good foods. lots of fruits and vegetables. what i also did especially in the beginningwhen i first found out that i had pcos i went on a veggie smoothie blend and i would dothat every 2 to 3 hours. my smoothie had celery, carrot, apple, onion,beets.
i dropped weight quickly because i had startedto gain weight and have problems losing weight and maintaining my weight. i found out that i had pcosat a good timeso i was able to rectify it. i did that smoothie for about a month. once i was able to reset my body. i switched the type of flour that i used. instead of white flour, i was using rye flourand spelt flour. instead of white rice i would use brown riceand eventually my stomach couldn't handle brown rice anymore, it irritated my stomachand i had to have bulghur wheat.
some pasta i could eat and others i couldn'ti would usually be able to tell based on the fact that i was getting irritable bowel syndrome. i drank a lot of water as usual. lots of nuts, seeds, flaxseeds, fruits. lots of bananas i started to having aloe everyday. for breakfast i would have a smoothie andsome days i would have a cup of oats with some almond milk, raisins, pumpkin seeds,sunflower seeds, cinnamon and that's breakfast. or i would have a smoothie first then i wouldmake soups with a lot of split peas or dhal. i ate many salads and provisions, root crops,dasheen/ taro.
even though i wasn't supposed to eat whitepotatoes i ate it anyway. sweet potatoes, eddoes, pumpkin. we had anavocado tree, as trinis say zaboca. i ate a lot of avocados too. once i stopped eating meat i got my proteinfrom split peas and i had that everyday. it may seem as though my diet was crazy buti was ok with it. it changed the way in which my body worked. in addition to eating a lot of food, and changingmy diet. i also started to exercise a lot. i did p90x religiously for 6 days a week workout.
i had a gut and then i didn't have it anymore. i had ripped abs i had so much stamina. i had a lot of energy, lots of muscles i wasable to run a 5k non-stop in about 35 minutes. changing my entire diet reset my body in away, in addition to changing the foods that i ate, i also supplemented with a lot of shark oil, iodine, excellent for organs, breast health and female organ health. i took a lot of vitamin c, selenium, frombrazil nuts and magnesium oil, best absorbed through your skin, i ate lots of quinoa, peasand beans lentils, chickpeas, garbanzo beans, channa.
if i did want dairy i made cottage cheese,it is really easy to make. if there is anything that i have left out,please leave a comment below. i have changed locations. i moved from trinidad to the bahamas and thenfrom the bahamas to china and within that change, i have modified my diet even more. i gained weight in the bahamas and now i amin china i have lost weight here. my diet currently is totally changed, onething i need to do, i need to do an ultrasound again and see what's happening to see if istill have the polycystic ovarian syndrome and if i do i will let you all know.
